Hendron Road Reconstruction Project
The Hendron Road Reconstruction Project (OPWC Project Number CC02T and CC03T), started the week of May 8th. After receiving and reviewing bids, the City has entered into a construction contract with Shelly and Sands, Inc. The City is also entering into an interagency agreement with the Franklin County Engineer's Office to provide construction administration and inspection for this project. The project includes adding storm sewers, curb and gutter, sidewalks, a new water main, and new street lights. The project also consists of adding sidewalks on the west side of Hendron Road, from Marlowa Drive to Cherry Blossom Drive. The road is scheduled to close to through traffic on June 5, 2017. Local traffic only will have access to residences along Hendron Road, between Sedalia Medical Center Drive and Marlowa Drive/Glendening Drive. Detour signs will be posted, directing northbound traffic to use Main Street to State Route 317, to Hendron Road. Motorists travelling to Marlowa Drive or the Glendening School Campus, should use State Route 317 to Hendron Road. For more project information, click below. Construction updates will be posted throughout the project.
Hendron Road Closure Information
Hendron Road Construction Bulletin - June 15, 2017
During the period beginning on Wednesday June 21, 2017, and continuing through Friday June 30, 2017, your water service may be temporally disrupted as the City’s contractor tests and activates a new water main between Main Street and Glendening Drive, and then transfers water service connections over to the new line. Notices prior to disruption will be provided to affected areas and neighborhoods so that customers can plan ahead. Some areas may receive precautionary boil advisories pursuant to Ohio EPA rules and regulations. Every effort will be made to minimize the time duration of the water service interruption. Thank you in advance for your patience during this important phase of construction along the Hendron Road Project.
West Bixby Road Reconstruction Project
The City will be making improvements on a portion of West Bixby Road this summer. Bids were received in April 2017, and the City has entered into a contract with Strawser Paving Company to complete the work, which will affect Bixby Road beginning at the intersection with Bixby Ridge Drive East, extending east to the entrance to the Madison Christian School at 3565 Bixby Road. The work will include reconstructing the roadway pavement and adding a recreational shared-use path on the north side of the road. Project work will start this summer in mid-June and continue until mid-September. It is anticipated that beginning in early July, Bixby Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic with detours posted while the road bed is being reconstructed. Weather permitting, the road is anticipated to be reopened before August 4, 2017. More details will be posted as the project gets underway.
